Francisco Rodriguez, a St. Peter parishioner, has been assigned to St. Peter Parish as an Acolyte. Please keep him in your prayers as he continues his formation in the diaconate.
A Message from Francisco:
On August 11th, the Feast of St. Lawrence the Martyr, I was instituted to the Ministry of Acolyte along with 16 other men, who have been discerning a vocation to the diaconate for the past 4 ½ years. The Ministry of Acolyte is the last major step that a man undertakes before he is ordained to the diaconate. In addition to our installation as acolytes, we all received an assignment to a parish. It is here at St. Peter that I will spend the next 10 months serving this community in various ministries; namely, assisting at Mass and bringing communion to the sick and homebound. I’m excited to enter this new phase of ministry as I complete the last stage of formation. My wife Brenda and I, along with our three children, have been parishioners of St. Peter Parish for the last eleven years. Brenda and I are natives of Puerto Rico. I served 20 years in the Marine Corps as a pilot. Presently, I serve as the director of Air and Marine Operations within U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Hammond, La. Thank you for the prayers you have offered for me and those other men and women discerning vocations to the priesthood, the diaconate, and religious life of our faith. I ask for your continued prayers as I embark on this last stage of preparation for ordained ministry.
