The Year of Mercy is here! Running from this week until the Solemnity of Christ the King (November 20, 2016), the year will emphasize God's attribute of mercy.
Mercy, of course, is present throughout our understanding of the faith. This year will highlight that reality. And at St. Peter Parish, we are very excited to live in God's merciful reality. Jump a page on our website for more information on the year.
And we have your links. The above banner links to the archdiocesan page for the Year of Mercy. Below witness Pope Francis begin the year and open the Holy Doors.
And what might be some of the heat in a faith conversation with adult children or other family members? Begin by checking your movie stubs.

It places its audience within the Boston Globe's investigative branch, Spotlight, during its months-long research into its series on clergy sexual abuse in the Archdiocese of Boston -- an investigation that was a tipping point for the Church in the United States.
"Spotlight" is painful -- beyond painful -- but it's no hatchet job, following Thomas McCarthy’s book Spotlight without sensationalism.
No liberal outlet itself, even the National Catholic Register offered a positive review of the film. Read it online at NCR's website. And then pray for healing within and outside the Church, from this dark period.
