The St. Peter Prayer Blanket Ministry is made up of volunteers who make prayer blankets - they sew, crochet, knit, quilt, or even make "no sew" fleece blankets. The volunteers pray over the blankets as they are being made. Completed blankets are brought to the rectory where they are blessed and then packaged with a prayer card. The prayer blankets are available to parishioners to bring to loved ones who are ill or in distress, or otherwise in need of prayer, and they bring much comfort!
The Prayer Blanket Ministry is open to anyone interested, young or old, who has the ability to make prayer blankets. We are also open to prayer warriors to pray for the prayer blanket recipients. To volunteer, please call the rectory at 985.892.2422.
Please remember to pick up a prayer blanket at the rectory for your loved ones who are ill or suffering. The prayer blankets are free, but any donations received will be used to purchase material and supplies. There is also a journal to enter the name of the recipient, and the recipients are remembered in the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass every quarter.
They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
