The Teen Choir strives to raise the hearts and voices of the faithful through beautiful, stirring psalms, hymns, and inspired songs so as to draw God’s people more fully into the mystery of the Mass and to help them experience the Presence of the living God more deeply. We are youth, called to be His instruments as He ministers to His people through the gift which He, the Divine Musician, established - music.
Who can be involved?:
Young ladies, grades 7-12 - singers (who will turn at least 13 years of age during the school year -- by the end of May)
Young men or ladies (grade and age as above) or adults - instrumentalists (cello, violin, acoustic guitar)
What are the requirements for being part of the Teen Choir?:
Have a good singing voice
Can carry a tune with grace
Have a desire for serving God and the Church through music
Instrumentalists must possess adequate skills in their instrument so as to enhance the overall musical experience
What styles of music do we sing?:
The Teen Choir provides a rich female choral musical style: Both contemporary and traditional, including classical and chant, and ranging from a capella to fully accompanied.
When are rehearsals?:
Thursday nights from 6:00-9:00 in the Music Office - required for participation in the choir
When do we sing?:
1-2 Sunday Masses per month, usually 5:00 p.m. Mass
Midnight Mass - Christmas
Divine Mercy Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass
Annual Homeschool Graduation Mass at St. Peter Church
Special events for St. Peter Church and other parishes, including Holy Hours, concerts, and special Masses as opportunities arise
Additional Activities:

Epiphany Party
Monthly Holy Hour/Social Hour evenings
End-of-Year Celebration

The St. Peter Teen Choir has recorded two CDs: Behold Your King in 2005 and Preparing a Way in 2009. Both CDs are available for purchase at St. Peter rectory at 985.892.2422.
